Landscape Product Finisher

LOCATION:

Barre, VT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

On a daily basis, you will be required to:

  • Operate hand-held shaping, grinding, cutting and/or polishing tools to meet fabrication specifications and tolerances.
  • Ensure product dimensions are correct using a tape measure and/or template.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for repairing minor issues and able to assist maintenance with other repairs.
  • Review work to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Occasionally use overhead cranes to move product.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

The ideal candidate would be one of the following:

  • Have an eye for detail.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Work as part of a production team.
  • Prior stone fabrication experience is preferred but those with a finishing background in either wood or metal are encouraged to apply. 

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, push and pull-on conveyors within the parameters of their work-release status.  

At all times the employee will be provided with the opportunity to use either a crane to lift loads or seek the assistance from another employee to complete a task that would otherwise compromise their recovery.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and water used for the suppression of dust and the cooling of finished product.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Working Conditions:

  • Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
  • Hourly rate: $25 to $30 and up, depending on industry experience.
  • Schedule/first shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
